Spring/Summer 2013 - Men's Sneakers

Well, as a continuation of the previous post, here are some of the sneakers for Spring/Summer 2013 season that caught my attention. Truth be told, there were so many to be chosen from and to be shared here but I've streamlined them down to the ones that I would reallllly wear (and potentially buy, too).  Metallic and neon colors are in this season as seen on Giuseppe Zanotti, Ferragamo (not shown here), Burberry (not shown here) and Maison Martin Margiela (also not shown), as well as monochrome which came as a surprise since black & white were the most unlikely colors for Spring and Summer. Monochrome are in full swing in the fashion house of Saint Laurent (not shown here), Givenchy and Lanvin.  My favorite? The black and white Raf Simons and yellow/turquoise Giuseppe Zanotti. Let me know which one is your favorite and I welcomed any new input. All images and prices are from Luisaviaroma, Ssense, Matches, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin and Saks Fifth Aven...

Fun Stuff: Footwear

Recently I was in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah with my hommie Ayi and it was amazing. The people are nice, the city was awesome and the view was ____  ( Insert adjective here. I'm running out of adjectives to describe ). I won't bore you with the details of our trip but I'd share with you a particular outfit I wore there. Taken on the same day, in the morning I decided to pair my favorite black long sleeve knitted top from Armani Exchange  and skinny blue jeans from Galliano  (it was on 40% off!) with my Burberry Prorsum gladiators . However, later on the day I ( literally ) kicked off the gladiators for my Louis Vuitton loafers for a walk along the promenade since it was so much more comfortable. So which footwear looks better with the outfit?     So...which one is better? Burberry gladiators LV loafers    pollcode.com free polls   juicyword@gmail.com Twitter: @kyeberry

Louis Vuitton 'Upside Down'

It all started one night when I was browsing through the latest Fall Winter 2012 collection on Louis Vuitton's website. I liked this one particular pair - Upside Down high-cut sneakers - but apparently it was not sold here in Malaysia. In Asia, it was only available in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.  So, to Singapore I made my way. It was sometime in the first week of August. Since we were well in our fasting month of Ramadan, there was nothing else for us to do but to made our way right to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands right after we landed in Changi. This baby is a patchwork of white, black and blue ( is that blue? ) perforated leather, logo-embossed suede and dark blue canvas trimming with matching shoe laces. The rubber sole is white with LV logo on the lateral side. Simply stunning.  If you're willing to fork out some money for this pair, by all means go ahead. Not only it is aesthetically-pleasing, but comfortable too.  ...

Louis Vuitton 'Monte Carlo' Loafers

Why loafers? Because they're comfortable and exudes that certain air of effortless-ness yet still being preppy.  Since Spring/Summer season is upon us, I thought, hey why not get myself a new pair of loafers that I could wear for weekends, either with shorts or khakis. This is the only time of the year where you could get spiffy loafers and sandals in abundance at every store (seriously, who would sell or wear loafers and sandals in Autumn/Winter?). Initially I was thinking of getting a pair of those Tod's ' Gomminos ' loafers in bold hues...until I laid my eyes on these.  These 'Monte Carlo' loafers are made of suede calf leather embossed with 'Petite Damier' pattern (the checkerboard design). The upper part of the shoe, or the vamp, is hand-stitched and finished with shiny Palladium LV logo and rivets. At the hind part of each loafer, there is the label's logo. For someone who has never worn a pair loafers before ( okay, maybe ...

Vuitton-ed Again

For my 22nd birthday I received a pair of gorgeous white Louis Vuitton sneakers. For 23rd birthday, I received an iPod Touch (it was the in thing at the time, alright). For 24th birthday, I received an iPad which did lots of good things to me.  For the upcoming 25th birthday, I decided to up the ante once more.  Since everyone knows my undying love for good shoes, it came as to no surprise when I decided to get a pair of sneakers for my 25th birthday. So I did some homework - flipped through the magazines, browsed the net, running through online catalogues. Finally I made up my mind.  I want a pair of Louis Vuitton Acapulco sneakers. They are gorgeous, rugged, masculine and a little too much.  One of the perks working in Bukit Bintang is that you can just swing by the Louis Vuitton boutique in Starhill Gallery during your lunchtime and browsed through the goods. I saw three Acapulcos - in white, black and navy blue leathers proudly on d...

Daydreaming at Night. Whatever

It's 2.43 a.m and I am still up reading about small and medium enterprises in Malaysia for my upcoming examinations next week *gasp!*. But I want to take a time-out for 2 seconds to write about this. The things that I want to do in the long term. Of course, I want to finish my studies and graduate. By then, I want to have at least one book published. Do you hear that miss-co-writer, Ann Jie? I want to secure a job. Something that I would be fine with, not having to come back from work and complain about it each night. Perhaps, I would need a car by then. A not-too-small car will do like Gen-2, not too sporty or too compact because I want to take my nephews and niece for ride as well. I would love to have all the essentials from the best labels around. As written currently on my vision board (Oprah influenced me to do one) in my room, I would want to have a patent leather wallet, perhaps from Lanvin or Dior Homme. A nice pair of black leather shoes, perhaps from Ferragamo or Louis V...

Birthday Comes Early

Though still about 10 days away, birthday comes early for me this year. In this case, it's a pleasant one. Muy pleasant! I've been officially Vuitton-ed. Much, much thank you to Mr Mohd Khairi Khalil for the prezzie. You know I owe you big time (and big label). Happy 22nd birthday to me :)

Heartbreakers

*this post had been updated due to massive grammatical errors. I'm so embarassed* The Carrie Bradshaw-ness strikes again. I fell in love with these gorgeous Victoire white leather sneakers from Louis Vuitton the moment I saw it last few months while doing my Raya shopping. The only thing stopped me from having it at that time was its color - white . I am a terrible stuff-keeper and a lousy preserver so I guess it was just a matter of time before I started leaving nasty marks on its angelic-white skin. But now I changed my mind. I don't care about the color anymore - I just got to have it! That was before I came across this pair of velcro sandals with rubber sole by Gucci. To be honest, I was always the shoe-guy and had never really been starstruck by sandals - until now. I got to have it. I just GOT to have it... and I'll have it, any way any how. I can picture myself with a short-sleeve shirt over a nice pair of khakis pants or shorts and complete the appearance with thes...
