I dedicate this post to everyone who still thinks Kenzo only makes perfume (Yep, I'm talking to you). Fellow readers, meet Kenzo 'Kenyon' sneakers in burgundy.  We were passing by a Kenzo boutique here in Kuala Lumpur when we saw this pair on display (along side another one in black with the same yellow logo-stitched felt tongue). It was reasonably priced (under RM2k) with 30% off. I don't know about you but for us, these are all the signs for us to buy the shoes. Like, right there ASAP. This pair is in burgundy nappa leather with thick white rubber sole and velcro strap. Is it comfortable? Very much.  I really love this whole new fresh look of Kenzo (since they got themselves new designers - the dynamic duo of Opening Ceremony). Why loafers? Because they're comfortable and exudes that certain air of effortless-ness yet still being preppy.  Since Spring/Summer season is upon us, I thought, hey why not get myself a new pair of loafers that I could wear for weekends, either with shorts or khakis. This is the only time of the year where you could get spiffy loafers and sandals in abundance at every store (seriously, who would sell or wear loafers and sandals in Autumn/Winter?). Initially I was thinking of getting a pair of those Tod's ' Gomminos ' loafers in bold hues...until I laid my eyes on these.  These 'Monte Carlo' loafers are made of suede calf leather embossed with 'Petite Damier' pattern (the checkerboard design). The upper part of the shoe, or the vamp, is hand-stitched and finished with shiny Palladium LV logo and rivets. At the hind part of each loafer, there is the label's logo. For my 22nd birthday I received a pair of gorgeous white Louis Vuitton sneakers. For 23rd birthday, I received an iPod Touch (it was the in thing at the time, alright). For 24th birthday, I received an iPad which did lots of good things to me.  For the upcoming 25th birthday, I decided to up the ante once more.  Since everyone knows my undying love for good shoes, it came as to no surprise when I decided to get a pair of sneakers for my 25th birthday. Calf Trainer Shoes (Trainer Veau Semelle Cuir) Every now and then, everyone needs that extra push to get through the day. Some people get it in the form of hugs. You (or I, actually) can never have too many shoes. Luckily I had another good reason (or excuse?) to get some new pairs. I needed new shoes for work since the one I wear now are no longer in its top form. I never really liked this Lanvin pair the first time I laid my eyes on them since it looked rather casual and inappropriate for formal wear. But, after some persuasion from Ayi, I gave it a try. OK, although I'm a HUGE footwear whore, I never really knew Sergio Rossi has men's line of footwear. Yeah, bummer, I know. It was until recently when I took a peek into its new swanky standalone boutique in Starhill Gallery (Indulge Floor) that I realized, hey, they have men's too! Sergio Rossi is one of the lesser known but no less fabulous high-end label of footwear, standing with the likes of Blahnik, Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Zanotti, Weitzman and Roger Vivier. If you Google for red carpet pictures, the chances to spot celebrities wearing Sergio Rossi are high. So, back to my discovery. I was tingling to explore the store but I reserve it when I really have the ability * coughcough,money,coughcough * to spend on its shoes. Last night, Ayi showed me this leather gladiator sandal from its online page. No need to mention, I got restless. I mean, how fabulous is that? JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur, located adjacent to the Starhill Gallery has probably one of the best Ramadan buffet around with affordable price. Quite affordable, if you may. With many other five-star hotels vying for buka puasa buffet but at insane prices (Hilton KL doing it at RM109++ per person, Le Meridien at RM89++, Hotel Istana at RM99++), JW Marriott took a wiser road by doing it at much lower price, which is RM54++. Not bad for an international five-star hotel with a long-standing good reputation over the years. Aside from the numerous bombings in Jakarta though. Indonesians seemed to have a unquenchable thirst for actions, I assumed. Waiting for breaking fast time Anyway, here in JW Marriott Ramadan buffet, you won't find any Western or any other types of main dishes other than Malay's. For real kampung-style food lover like me, this is a buffet worth attending. You have over 100 dishes to choose from - from chicken rice, mees, laksa, briyani, rojak, fruits, cakes, bubur, ...

Last week, my hommie and I went window shopping and took a stroll around the city - the first weekend outing in 2009, after spending almost 3 weeks at home. Of course, we were 'financially-challenged' (I refuse to use the term ' broke '). Thus, that explains why we only went window shopping and, yes Ann Jie, it was depressing. Feeling numb and just for fun's sake, we hopped from one store to another and one of it was Bottega Veneta. An Italian ' du jour ' high end store which stands at the same level as Louis Vuitton and Hermes, in terms of its exclusivity, history and class. Bottega Veneta signature woven leather is seen on almost all of its goods - shoes, bags and even accessories. And I fell in love with its high-top sneakers. This particular Madison sneakers cost RM2600 approximately. It should be on my next wish-list. Fingers crossed. Bottega Veneta is available in Starhill, Kuala Lumpur.

Though still about 10 days away, birthday comes early for me this year. In this case, it's a pleasant one. Muy pleasant! I've been officially Vuitton-ed. Much, much thank you to Mr Mohd Khairi Khalil for the prezzie. You know I owe you big time (and big label). Happy 22nd birthday to me :)
