Giuseppe Zanotti Summer 2013 Sneakers

This pair was bought almost two months back and I had completely forgotten about posting them here.  Thought I'd share with all of you this camo London sneakers by Giuseppe Zanotti for their Spring/Summer 2013 collection - because they are ridiculously sick! I had my eyes on a similar pair without the metal studs but with Zanotti's signature metal Velcro strap. Sadly, that particular pair didn't make it to our shore.... but this one does!  This pair comes in camo-print suede leather with metallic gold leather trimmings and matching gold zippers and metal studs on the sides. The shoe laces are black and so does the rubber sole. The asking price for these sneakers are listed on its website at US$825 or so, but it was sold for twice the price in Giuseppe Zanotti boutique here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  That pretty much answers why people shop overseas. Only 6 of these babies are available in Malaysia and happy to say, I snagged the first o...

Prada Levitate Brogues

Prada 'Levitate' brogues in grey/silver I figured, my humble shoes collection wouldn't be complete without a pair (or two) from Prada. Coincidentally, there's a particular pair that I really, really liked this season.  So, I gathered this was a sign from the universe for me to walk into Prada store and get one of its shoes. Introducing the Levitate brogues from the Spring/Summer 2013 men's runway collection. It's a no-brainer how these brogues got its name. The thick, clear plastic sole makes it seems, well, levitating.  Made of brushed calf leather with perforated wingtip design, it comes in four colours: black, white, brown and this, greyish silver with matching shoe laces.  I always wear shoes in 42.5 or 43. However, I can fit in nicely into size 41 of this without any discomfort or pain. That's something, isn't it? I hereby embed an unboxing video I had made for this pair a couple of weeks ago so you can get a better pic...

Go Crazy or Go Home

I was totally in love with these JS Instinct the moment I saw Nicki Minaj wore them couple of months back. I think they're really cute - in crazy cute kinda way.  I'm starting to like JS Instinct even more now after buying the first pair because THEY ARE SO COMFORTABLE. You can imagine what they do to your feet just by looking at those thick cushioning and extra large tongue.  Simply comfortable - like wrapping hotel pillows to your feet.  So, as you can see from the pictures, the right and the left one aren't really identical to one another but the color combo are (so that onlookers and passers-by know that you're actually wearing the correct pair). While some might think it's tad too much to wear crazy sneakers like this, I actually like them for this because they are SO CRAZY! Jeremy Scott has never failed to impress me. Never .  juicyword@gmail.com Twitter: @kyeberry

Kenzo Kenzo Kenzo!

I dedicate this post to everyone who still thinks Kenzo only makes perfume (Yep, I'm talking to you). Fellow readers, meet Kenzo 'Kenyon' sneakers in burgundy.  We were passing by a Kenzo boutique here in Kuala Lumpur when we saw this pair on display (along side another one in black with the same yellow logo-stitched felt tongue). It was reasonably priced (under RM2k) with 30% off. I don't know about you but for us, these are all the signs for us to buy the shoes. Like, right there ASAP. This pair is in burgundy nappa leather with thick white rubber sole and velcro strap. Is it comfortable? Very much.  I really love this whole new fresh look of Kenzo (since they got themselves new designers - the dynamic duo of Opening Ceremony). The box, the tissue wrapper and the upbeat, younger look of Kenzo are really growing on us. Plus, it's not ridiculously-priced as any other luxury fashion house. You can get their shoes (like this one) for under R...

Spring/Summer 2013 - Men's Sneakers

Well, as a continuation of the previous post, here are some of the sneakers for Spring/Summer 2013 season that caught my attention. Truth be told, there were so many to be chosen from and to be shared here but I've streamlined them down to the ones that I would reallllly wear (and potentially buy, too).  Metallic and neon colors are in this season as seen on Giuseppe Zanotti, Ferragamo (not shown here), Burberry (not shown here) and Maison Martin Margiela (also not shown), as well as monochrome which came as a surprise since black & white were the most unlikely colors for Spring and Summer. Monochrome are in full swing in the fashion house of Saint Laurent (not shown here), Givenchy and Lanvin.  My favorite? The black and white Raf Simons and yellow/turquoise Giuseppe Zanotti. Let me know which one is your favorite and I welcomed any new input. All images and prices are from Luisaviaroma, Ssense, Matches, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin and Saks Fifth Aven...

Spring/Summer 2013 - Men's T-Shirt

New season has kicked in and the stores have been stocked with their latest collection.  I took some time (make it about 10 hours) of my daily chores to ogle through some of the new collection online via Luisaviaroma & Ssense, my two favorite online stores. We'll  get to the shoes later on but for now, I'll share with you the t-shirt pieces that caught my attention. All images are from Luisaviaroma and Ssense. I'm really feeling the oversized t-shirt from Givenchy, the metallic stripes of Burberry and that oh-so-cute hippo t-shirt from Lanvin. Soon, perhaps?    juicyword@gmail.com Twitter: @kyeberry

Finally - Giuseppe Zanotti Sneakers

My closet is a plethora of monochrome clothes and footwear, so I vowed not to get any other item in black or white. However, since I am so full of shit, I couldn't resist the temptation of this Giuseppe Zanotti Winter 2012 sneakers, broke my vow and returned home with another black footwear. But this isn't just any footwear. This is Giuseppe Zanotti, mind you - at least, that was how I consoled myself .  I really love the side zippers and the metal plate on its velcro strap. I feel they give an extra edge to an otherwise boring footwear with a bad-ass yet classy look. I've embedded the unboxing video I made and posted on YouTube so you can see the sneakers in action (don't forget to opt for High Def). Do check out the gorgeous dustbags that come with them too.  juicyword@gmail.com Twitter: @kyeberry

Go Kooky: JS Gorilla

It has been a while since I got myself a quirky pair of footwear. I've been settling for more practical and mature-looking shoes/sneakers of late but once in a while, I do need to get in touch with my crazy side. Hence this JS Gorilla. Initially I was torn between this one and JS Instinct, but I ended up getting both since I hate making tough, life-changing *cough* decisions. Besides, this pair looks cute too.  The whole shoe is covered with black faux fur with cushion-soft gorilla head tongue. Oh, the gorilla's white 'shirt' is detachable too - for cleaning purposes or tying the shoe laces underneath.  I have yet to wear this sneakers - pending for the right outfit and the right occasion to do so. Guess I'm not as bold as I was then, though I still maintain that quirky taste inside. juicyword@gmail.com Twitter: @kyeberry

Adidas JS Instinct

I've seen Lil Wayne in one before and although I'm never a fan of his music, I do adore what he put on his feet.  I love the bright in-your-face yellow, along with its larger-than-life label on the tongue. But what I really love about this sneaker is - surprise - its back part. I just think they look sporty, young, fun, upbeat and very Adidas-ish from that angle.  The sneakers are in soft leather and the inner sole and cushioning are oh-so-comfy. I could fall asleep standing while wearing them, let me tell 'ya.  It comes in white too and for the Fall/Winter '12 collection, there's a version of JS Instinct in cocktail of colors and prints which I'm totally in love with. Can't wait to get my hands on them soon.  Just when you thought Mr Jeremy Scott couldn't do better, he proved you otherwise. I just love the black-and-yellow combo on the sneakers.  Suddenly, Wiz Khalifa's 'Black and Yellow' playing in my head.... I...

Back to Black: Alexander McQueen for Puma Black Label

It is no surprise that I am a huge fan of high-top sneakers. But what surprises me is the fact that I haven't bought anything from Puma in the longest time. Although some of their sneakers do have some sick, awesome design, I just felt they were just not for me. Until I saw this pair ( and the 'Sale' sign next to it ). I just love the triple shades of blue combo on them along with the softness of the suede and calf leather. When I first tried it on, I thought they looked funny because of the hiking boot-style shoe laces but after a while, it started to grow on me.  Why not try something a tad different for a change, I told myself. The fact that it was on 40% off gained itself extra brownie points for me to take it home. Oh, did I mention that I also got a free Puma Black Label lush leather passport cover for this purchase? Sweet. Puma Black Label is the higher end line of the sport house, much like that of Adidas Originals by Originals. As stated on...

Louis Vuitton 'Upside Down'

It all started one night when I was browsing through the latest Fall Winter 2012 collection on Louis Vuitton's website. I liked this one particular pair - Upside Down high-cut sneakers - but apparently it was not sold here in Malaysia. In Asia, it was only available in Japan, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore.  So, to Singapore I made my way. It was sometime in the first week of August. Since we were well in our fasting month of Ramadan, there was nothing else for us to do but to made our way right to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands right after we landed in Changi. This baby is a patchwork of white, black and blue ( is that blue? ) perforated leather, logo-embossed suede and dark blue canvas trimming with matching shoe laces. The rubber sole is white with LV logo on the lateral side. Simply stunning.  If you're willing to fork out some money for this pair, by all means go ahead. Not only it is aesthetically-pleasing, but comfortable too.  ...

Wrap My Wrist!

I have a latest obsession. Recently I've been having this urge to adorn my wrist with bracelets. No, not those chunky gold ones as worn by Chinese towkays but more like those around Gerard Butler's wrist in ' PS I Love You ' movie. Google it and you'll know what I'm talking about. Initially I had my eyes on those woven leather bracelets by Tod's but upon trying them out, I just thought they didn't look as pretty on me as they were on display. So, mission aborted and I decided to take a detour from my initial target and opt for this wrap-around bracelet by Balenciaga. It is made of lambskin with palladium-plated metal hardware with buckle closure. For my size of wrist, it can pretty much wrap around three times.  I'm certainly happy with my decision to go for this one though it cost a tad more than Tod's bracelets. I look forward to deck my wrist with more bracelets, so watch this space. Many thanks to Ayi for rec...

Paul Smith 'Mini on Location LA' Messenger

If you happen to search for a certain bag that is preppy yet casual with a hint of British touch, get yourself a hold of anything by Paul Smith. Like this messenger bag for instance, which I love and found it to be totally useful.  Known for the iconic picture of a multicoloured striped Mini in front of a Paul Smith boutique - for this Spring/Summer 2012 season, it's the Los Angeles' - this ' Mini on Location ' messenger bag is an English dandy-chic powerhouse to be reckoned with.  Made of canvas with purple canvas inner lining, it's perfect for your - in this case, ahem , my - around town day to day use without looking so serious, yet roomy enough to fill in all of your necessary belongings.  There is an internal zip pocket and an iPad/netbook compartment. The shoulder strap is of chocolate brown and the metal hardware is in gold. If you're looking for a decent bag less than RM2000, then this one is a steal. With Paul Smith stamp on i...

Need: A Bag for Work

This post is long overdue but heck, whatever. The bag that I used for work was in a relatively bad shape after years of going through thick and thin, rainy and sunny day together with me. That black messenger bag by Guess did me lots of good things for four years and it still does, occasionally, but I decided that it's a high time to get a new one. ...because that's how I give myself a kick to jumpstart my mood of going to work (since I ' love'  my job so much). One afternoon, during my lunch break, I made a pilgrimage to Pavilion KL and scouted for a decent bag for work to replace the old one. After much deliberation (about the price and durability), I decided to go for this shoulder bag from Coach. Made of grey leather with thick brown canvas shoulder strap, it's roomy enough for a weekend bag and very suitable for a day-to-day bag for work. I love how the bag slouched when I carry it to work, giving it a nice effortless look. As any other C...

Did Anyone Say Monogram?

This pair of sneakers aren't exactly my cup of tea. My personal style has always been minimal, plain and somewhat akin to Tom Ford's, who are against any kind of in-you-face monograms (which is an irony for someone who was an eponymous designer for Gucci). But I made an exception for this pair since it was on sale and quite a bargain.  I really dislike Gucci for not having specific name to its merchandises (unlike Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent or even Christian Louboutin). Unique names for each item will personalize the said item, don't you think so? Like Hermes ' Birkin ' bag, Chanel ' 2.55 ' bag, Louis Vuitton ' Acapulco ' sneakers (ehem) and Adidas ' JS Wings ' sneakers (ehem), to name a few. Anyway, back to this pair. Although the monogram looks like an overkill, actually they are shown only on the lateral side ( I just had to apply that term from my dentistry background, sorry ) of the shoe instead of covering its en...

Burberry Gladiator Sandals

This would be one of the posts I have been wanting so badly to write. Alright, so I got myself a hot new pair of gladiator sandals this past weekend - and needless to say, I love every bit of it (as my any other footwear). However, this one is extra special, considering I have been looking for the perfect gladiator sandals since the last 2-3 years but none caught my eyes. Even if they did, I couldn't find it here in KL or Singapore. Buying this means I had to abandon my 4-year pledge of not buying Burberry items (since they support illegal fur trade). So you can imagine just how much I really liked this one. This one is made of pure leather with metal studs here and there. The metal buckles are engraved with the label, same goes with the leather insole and rubber sole. The leather straps are held together by a suede patch at the front side and there is a leather patch for the tying straps. I took them for a 'test drive' on the very next day and whoa, the resp...

Ferragamo Kicks

When I said I was going to up the ante for my 25th birthday, I didn't mean ONLY getting that Louis Vuitton sneakers for my birthday.  Instead, I got TWO brand new sneakers! *Grabs wallet and laughs* I have to admit, this purchase was quite inadvertent since I only had my eye on those Acapulco sneakers. But, a quick detour into a Ferragamo boutique proved to be a successful hunt when I saw these hi-tops. Say hello to the Italian craftsmanship wonder named Colonia from the house's Fall/Winter 2011 collection.  This baby is encapsulated in dark leather, canvas and suede finishing with the the house's monogram at the hind part in nylon fabric. The shoe laces are in black but there's an extra pair of laces given in white (ick!). I think I'd go for the black one, all the way. What I love most about this pair is the attention to details given, as in any other Ferragamo shoes. The stitching were immaculate, the fitting were superb and the small mono...

Vuitton-ed Again

For my 22nd birthday I received a pair of gorgeous white Louis Vuitton sneakers. For 23rd birthday, I received an iPod Touch (it was the in thing at the time, alright). For 24th birthday, I received an iPad which did lots of good things to me.  For the upcoming 25th birthday, I decided to up the ante once more.  Since everyone knows my undying love for good shoes, it came as to no surprise when I decided to get a pair of sneakers for my 25th birthday. So I did some homework - flipped through the magazines, browsed the net, running through online catalogues. Finally I made up my mind.  I want a pair of Louis Vuitton Acapulco sneakers. They are gorgeous, rugged, masculine and a little too much.  One of the perks working in Bukit Bintang is that you can just swing by the Louis Vuitton boutique in Starhill Gallery during your lunchtime and browsed through the goods. I saw three Acapulcos - in white, black and navy blue leathers proudly on d...
